Participants must have beginner sewing skills with the knowledge of how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. We will learn how to follow and modify a pattern for fit and style. You will work with a pattern and learn to read/understand the instructions. You will also learn sewing machine techniques for button holes, hemming and zippers. Adult Beginner Sewing - 230371

This class is geared toward advanced swimmers ages 18+ years. Swimmer must be able to swim 1 length of the pool on their front and 1 length on their back [25 yards each]. This class will help refine strokes, learn to tread water, and introduce diving.
Participants will learn basic sewing machine skills and how to prepare for a project. They will have the opportunity to complete a beginner project such a pillowcase a drawstring bag, beach/pool tote, shorts or skirt with an elastic waist. During the first two weeks, you will learn the sewing basics, using the sewing machine and tools of sewing: then you will move on to a sewing project. Please bring your sewing scraps for practice. When we start the sewing projects, you will need to purchase and bring your own materials. Sewing machines provided.
