Fall Kickball - 120202

Welcome to the Charlottesville Adult Kickball League! Teams can register in our Competitive League or Recreational League. The Competitive League is design for sports enthusiasts who wish to apply skills in a competitive environment at a high level. The Recreational League will have a more social and leisure atmosphere that emphasizes fun over competition. All teams will play an eight game regular season followed by a single elimination playoff. Teams will receive 15 team tee-shirts for registration. All games will be played at McIntire, Azalea, or Washington Park Fields.

Essential Oils Workshop - 140198

1st Month: ESSENTIAL OILS: THE BASICS: Participants are introduced to the many cosmetic and holistic uses of essential oils. Students will learn the history of essential oils, different grades, how to use and what types of oils are available. Participants will be able to make their own essential oil blend using what they have learned in the class. Each student will also receive a popular essential oil from DoTerra for attending.

2nd Month: ESSENTIAL OILS: EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING: Join us for a class filled with hands-on science and a discussion on how your emotions are held in one of three places-the mind, heart and gut. Participants will learn how to use essential oils to heal, and to target particular emotions during the class. All participants will have an opportunity to make their own essential oil “well-being” blend using the information learned in the class.

3rd Month: ESSENTIAL OILS: WOMEN'S HEALTH: Take an in-depth look at the unique way a woman’s body is wired and how an essential oil routine can help women achieve optimal health. Topics covered include hormonal balance, good, quality sleep, emotional stability and daily cellular health. Taught by an experienced professional, this highly-informative and interactive class will leave participants feeling great and ready to put their knowledge to use. Each participant will also create their very own essential oil blend and a blend of a top-selling essential oil to take home.

ARC Lifeguard Review Course - 210604

This class is for candidates who possess a CURRENT CERTIFICATION or have expired within 30 days of the start date of class. All participants are required to provide their current or expired certification card on the first day of class.

The purpose of the Review course is to give individuals the opportunity to review the course content within a formal class setting. The responsibility for preparing for the final written exam is shared by the instructor and the candidate. Candidates should be prepared to watch videos, review all required skills and be prepared to take written and physical [in water] exam.

Minimum age: 15 by last day of class

Precourse swim test:
*Swim 300 yards continuously; 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 combination free/breast
*Tread water for 1 minute without using hands
*Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 10 - 12 feet, retrieve 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute 40 seconds
*Cannot miss class

Should candidate fail to successfully pass the Precourse swim test, a refund can be issued minus the Precourse swim test cost of $75

Bring to class: Red Cross Lifeguard book, Swim suit, Towels [multiple], CPR mask [may be purchased for $15]

**Requests for make up classes due to personal conflicts will not be honored, students are required to attend all class sessions**

Youth Basketball - 220201

The Youth Basketball Program invites all boys and girls in grades 1-8 to sign up for league play. Practices are held on Saturdays beginning November 3rd. Games begin the week of January 7th. ALL Boys and & Girls interested must register and attend a skill assessment. All female participants shall attend the skill assessment on October 2. All male participants shall attend the skill assessment on October 4. The make-up date for skill assessments is October 17. All skill assessments will be from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Walker School Gym. League games are played Monday (3-4 grade girls), Tuesday (3-4 grade boys), Wednesday (5-6 grade boys), Thursday (7-8 grade Boys & 5-8 grade Girls)
